The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has automatically extended the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) designation for Lebanon. As a result, TPS-related Employment Authorization Documents (EADs) issued to Lebanese beneficiaries have been automatically extended through November 27, 2026. [1, 2]
EADs bearing a “Card Expires” date of May 27, 2026, remain valid for employment authorization through November 27, 2026. Current beneficiaries are not required to file Form I-821 or pay any additional fees to benefit from this automatic extension. However, beneficiaries must continue to meet all TPS eligibility requirements to maintain their status.[1][2]
SAVE Verification Guidance
The Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) program has been updated to reflect these automatic EAD extensions:
- SAVE now recognizes the automatic extension of EADs for TPS beneficiaries from Lebanon.
- When verifying an employee with an EAD category of A12 or C19, SAVE will reflect the extended validity date of November 27, 2026.
- If SAVE does not immediately verify an individual’s status, employers may utilize the free SAVE CaseCheck tool for additional verification.
