Jacob Mars
Associate
Jacob B. Mars is an associate in the Litigation practice group at Greenspoon Marder LLP. Prior to joining Greenspoon Marder, Mr. Mars gained valuable experience through various legal clerkships. At a boutique law firm in Miami, he conducted comprehensive legal research on entertainment and intellectual property matters, focusing on the rights of recording artists. His responsibilities included drafting memoranda of law, motions in limine, and motions to dismiss, as well as assisting in deposition preparations. During his tenure at another law firm in Fort Lauderdale, Mr. Mars delved into sports and entertainment law, particularly in the realm of Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) issues. He refined his skills in drafting various legal documents, negotiating with examining attorneys for the USPTO, and actively participating in depositions and hearings.
Mr. Mars’ legal journey, however, began as a law clerk at a full-service law firm in Fort Lauderdale. Here, he engaged in diverse research projects, covering topics such as the police emergency exception doctrine in a sensitive case, termination of employment matters, and governmental/civil rights litigation. Mr. Mars demonstrated his versatility by drafting memoranda, motions, requests for production, and subpoenas across a spectrum of practice areas, including general civil litigation, employment law, government affairs, personal injury, trusts and estates, and corporate law.
Mr. Mars earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Miami in May 2023, where he actively participated in the Entertainment and Sports Law Society and the Business Law Society. Prior to that, Mr. Mars earned honors and actively contributed to various student organizations while pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Michigan and graduating in 2020.
