Stacey Knox is a partner in Greenspoon Marder LLP’s Litigation practice group. He specializes in complex civil litigation and dispute resolution with a focus on commercial, intellectual property, entertainment, and real estate matters.

Mr. Knox has an extensive record in both state and federal courts, representing a diverse clientele through every phase of the litigation lifecycle, including high-stakes arbitration, mediation, and litigation through trial. He has successfully briefed and argued numerous matters before the California Court of Appeals.

His professional foundation includes a tenure at some of the world’s most prestigious law firms. Throughout his career, he has represented Fortune 500 companies in the pharmaceutical, energy, and insurance industries, as well as regional enterprises, entertainers, athletes, and other high-net-worth individuals.

Represented multi-million-dollar real estate investment company in various commercial disputes regarding property developments located throughout the United States.
Represented numerous companies in the apparel industry in commercial and intellectual property disputes, including copyright litigation.
Represented biofuel technology company in unfair competition dispute with competitor regarding product marketing and certification.
Represent companies across a range of industries, including e-commerce, apparel, hospitality, technology, and livestock distribution, in defense of labor and employment claims, trade secret, unfair competition, and embezzlement disputes involving former executives and departing employees.
Primary attorney and first chair in bench trial, representing plaintiff in fraud claim arising from international commercial transaction resulting in a six-figure damages award in favor of client.
Responsible attorney and second chair of trial team in multi-million-dollar real estate litigation involving dozens of housing projects nationwide, culminating in a month-long trial; responsible for preparation and examination of witnesses, drafting and arguing trial motions, development of evidence, and primary interface with opposing counsel.
Member of trial team in a four-week jury trial defending tool manufacturer in a multi-million-dollar action brought by an acquiring hedge fund alleging that the acquired company had made misrepresentations in disclosures regarding the underlying asset purchase. Examined several witnesses at trial and participated in all aspects of trial preparation and presentation, resulting in a complete defense verdict.
Worked on defense and trial teams representing pharmaceutical manufacturer in numerous products liability consumer lawsuits, including week long jury trial that settled mid-trial.
Primary and generating attorney representing A-list celebrity client as plaintiff and as defendant in multiple lawsuits and in arbitration, including breach of contract disputes and multiple tort lawsuits, involving claims for defamation, invasion of privacy, and breach of non-disclosure agreement; secured dismissal of superior court action; successfully defended client on anti-SLAPP motion in superior court and on appeal.
Represent all-pro NFL player in defense and counterclaims in multiple lawsuits in state and federal court, including securing dismissal of superior court action; represent client in successful defense and prosecution of anti-SLAPP motions in superior court and on appeal, ultimately resulting in award of attorneys’ fees for client and “walk-away” resolution of dispute.
Primary attorney achieving defense verdict of dismissal representing real estate developer in defense of claims brought by LLC member – also a real estate developer – regarding distribution of proceeds from $11 commercial real estate sale; representing client in appeals court after securing dismissal of multiple superior court actions.
Represent commercial tenant in defense of claims and prosecution of counterclaims against landlord, ultimately resulting in terminating sanctions against landlord and judgment exceeding $6 million in favor of client on counterclaims; argued numerous motions in trial court, including ultimately successful motion for terminating sanctions, and now representing client on appeal.
Represent general contractor in defense of claims and prosecution of counter-claims against sub-contractor in multi-million dollar payment dispute regarding contract with LADWP for hundred million dollar power line development project.

Represent injured party, family, and estate of deceased against various municipal agencies and State of California in wrongful death and related claims in dispute involving pedestrian bystander killed and another injured during high speed CHP chase in a residential area.
Primary attorney in representation of petroleum manufacturer in defense of toxic tort commenced by several hundred plaintiffs alleging various damages as a result of chemical release at oil refinery. Managed team of junior associates, and defended case through motion practice and discovery, successfully obtaining dismissal of numerous individual plaintiffs, and negotiating favorable settlement.
Acted as “Quality Assurance” liaison between pharmaceutical manufacturer and numerous trial teams at major law firms nationwide in preparation for jury trials in jurisdictions throughout the United States. Interviewed trial team members and reported back to client regarding strength of case and any potential concerns.
Primary attorney in defense of international insurance brokerage firm, in federal securities litigation regarding alleged misrepresentations in company’s public statements. Represented client through discovery and motion practice, arguing motion that achieved transfer of venue and jurisdiction, ultimately leading to dismissal of litigation.
