Fort Lauderdale, Fla. – October 19, 2022 – Greenspoon Marder is pleased to announce that the firm has successfully achieved Mansfield Rule 5.0 Certification. The Mansfield Rule was named after Arabella Mansfield, the first female lawyer admitted to practice law in the US in 1869, and serves to increase the representation of historically underrepresented talent in law firms. The Mansfield Rule Certification was founded by a human resources services company named Diversity Lab which works with law firms and legal departments across the globe.
In order to achieve Mansfield Rule Certification, law firms are required to demonstrate yearlong progress to increase diversity in the candidate pool for senior lateral positions, leadership and governance roles (including equity partner promotions), and formal client pitch opportunities, by considering a minimum of 30%-50% underrepresented candidates for such roles.
As the Firm pursues re-certification and reflects on internal processes for committee appointments, lateral hiring, and promotions, Greenspoon Marder leadership will continue striving to ensure that this process better positions itself to meet clients’ needs, while fostering meaningful positive changes across the board.
