Denver, CO – October 2, 2018 – Greenspoon Marder partner, Edward D. Brown, served as lead author for the annually revised Irrevocable Trusts Chapter of the Colorado Bar Association’s Estate Planning Handbook. The book is used as a reference tool among practitioners who engage in Colorado estate plans. With the help of his co-author, Eric Kaplan, Esq., the latest 2018 update has been finalized.
The new additions include, among other topics, the 2018 Toni 1 case that ruled against an Alaska domestic asset protection trust, changes to the asset protection trust laws of Alaska and South Dakota, and the 2018 adjustments to the gift, estate and generation-skipping transfer exemptions that apply to US citizens and non-citizens.
Mr. Brown is a partner and Co-Chair of the International Wealth and Asset Planning Group. He focuses his practice on trust designs that are customized to the clients’ goals of protection of assets for their family and having added flexibility in their comprehensive estate plans that allow maximizing options with regard to changing circumstances and evolving laws.
