October 17, 2018

Fort Lauderdale, FL – October 17, 2018Greenspoon Marder has been recognized by Benchmark Litigation USA as a “Recommended Firm” in Florida for 2019. Now in its 12th year, the rating guide bases its selections on months of research, extensive interviews with litigators and their clients, and a review of casework.

Founder and Co-Managing Director, Michael Marder, and partners, Richard Epstein, Beth-Ann Krimsky, Jeffrey Backman and Murray Silverstein have been selected as Florida “Litigation Stars” based on an extensive six-month research period where Benchmark Litigation researchers conduct in depth interviews with litigators and their clients to identify leading litigators and firms. During these interviews, researchers examine recent casework handled by attorneys and ask litigators in other firms to offer their professional opinions on peers.

Mr. Marder has focused his practice in commercial litigation and timeshare and resort law, working not only to create a firm that handles timeshare law, but shaping the industry in the process. Mr. Marder was instrumental in drafting Chapter 721, the Florida Vacation Plan and Timeshare Act, and its amendments. For more than thirty years he has represented the interests of the largest privately-held timeshare and vacation ownership company in the U.S., as well as numerous other hospitality clients, in a practice that spans all facets of the industry.

Mr. Epstein routinely appears in state and federal trial and appellate courts throughout the country. He and his team assist business clients with litigation involving highly regulated industries including class action defense and regulatory enforcement, debt settlement, labor and employment, contract disputes, securities and consumer protection and trade regulation.

Ms. Krimsky’s practice includes a broad variety of commercial trial work and cases, including complex real estate and land use litigation, business disputes, fraud based litigation and class action defense with an emphasis on marketing, privacy and compliance issues in state and federal courts.

Mr. Backman focuses his practice on complex class action defense and general commercial litigation. He has defended clients in federal courts throughout the country, and is at the forefront of the legal landscape involving the telemarketing industry.

Mr. Silverstein, board certified in business litigation and civil trial by the Florida Bar, is experienced in complex commercial, business, and real estate litigation, as well as appeals, throughout the federal and state courts of Florida.
