Denver, Col. – June 28, 2021 – Greenspoon Marder partner Nick Richards will be a featured speaker at the virtual 2021 New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJCPA) Cannabis Conference panel entitled “Navigating the 280E Tax Burden.” The live webcast will take place on Thursday, August 5th, from 11:10-12:25 p.m. PT. Mr. Richards will discuss the Internal Revenue Code Section 280E and its tax burden imposed on the cannabis industry. The discussion will also touch on IRS techniques to enforce 280E and the internal revenue code, case law to be aware of, and how to maximize the minimal legislative grace granted to cannabis businesses.
The 2021 NJCPA Cannabis Conference will provide updates on the adult-use cannabis industry and must-know information for CPAs looking to serve cannabis clients in any part of the supply chain. Various topics will include banking, finance, insurance, and payroll concerns and options; hot legal issues; and tax issues including IRC §280E.
