Greenspoon Marder Partner Michael Patrick Appointed to International Trademark Association’s Enforcement Committee For 2024-2025 Term

New York – October 6, 2023 – Greenspoon Marder partner Michael Patrick has been appointed to the Enforcement Committee for the 2024-2025 term by the International Trademark Association (INTA). Committee members fulfill their responsibilities by promptly and thoughtfully responding to assignments, participating in conference calls, and attending meetings. During their two-year committee term, members are also strongly encouraged to register for and attend a handful of leadership meetings.

The Enforcement Committee develops and advocates policy on the timely and effective enforcement of trademarks and business identifiers, including through administrative and judicial proceedings. The Committee monitors and analyzes cases, legislation, and regulations in various jurisdictions, proposes trademark enforcement policy recommendations to the Board, evaluates enforcement mechanisms adopted by worldwide jurisdictions, and develops policies to achieve harmonization of enforcement procedures for the best protection of trademark rights. Committee work includes writing reports and submissions, and advocacy in conjunction with relevant committees and staff.

Mr. Patrick is well-recognized as a litigator and counselor to clients around the world, including some of the most acclaimed and distinguished companies, celebrities, and individuals. Although his practice spans numerous areas and industries, Mr. Patrick has been recognized as a leader in complex commercial litigation, intellectual property, and intellectual property litigation. Mr. Patrick routinely represents and counsel clients through complex – and often “bet the company” – matters and scenarios on a global scale, including state and federal courts, regulatory proceedings, and arbitral venues.
