THE FLORIDA BAR’S “PATH TO INCLUSION” SYMPOSIUM 2017

Orlando, FL – November 9, 2017 – Greenspoon Marder is proud to support The Florida Bar’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee’s “Path To Inclusion” Symposium 2017. The first-ever statewide symposium will be held November 9-10, 2017 at the Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista, where a panel of dynamic speakers will address gender bias, multiculturalism, and implicit/explicit bias. Greenspoon Marder shareholder and member of the Florida Bar’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee, Evett L. Simmons, will be speaking on the “Breaking the Glass Ceiling and Expanding Pathways to Gender Equality” panel.

Ms. Simmons is the Chief Diversity Officer of Greenspoon Marder. She concentrates her practice in the areas of probate and guardianship administration, estate planning and elder law. She has been recognized by a variety of respected organizations, associations, and businesses. She has been president of several bar associations, including the National Bar Association. She just completed a term as Chair of The Florida Bar Continuing Legal Education Committee and the American Bar Association Commission on Racial and Ethnic Diversity in the Profession. Recently, she was named to represent the NBA on the ABA’s newly formed Diversity and Inclusion Center Advisory Council. In addition, Ms. Simmons currently serves on the Board of Trustees of Florida Southern College Florida which, in 2013, named its multicultural center the “Evett L. Simmons Center for Multicultural Awareness.”
