Greenspoon Marder Attorneys Joseph C. Wasch and Frank Whitaker Successfully Represent Client in Commercial Property Deal Valued at $26.5 Million

Fort Lauderdale, Fla. – August 25, 2023 – As retail property sales continue to tick upward in South Florida this summer, Greenspoon Marder Franchise Law of counsel Joseph C. Wasch and Real Estate associate Frank Whitaker successfully represented the seller of “Magnolia Shoppes,” a shopping center located in Coral Springs, Florida, in a deal valued at $26.5 million, which included a related loan defeasance transaction. The commercial property was completed in 1998 and holds a grand total of 136,803 square feet of retail space across 12 acres.

Mr. Wasch provides more than 40 years of experience in concentrating his practice on franchise industry matters, involving business structuring, entity organization and corporate governance, private equity and debt financing transactions, acquisitions, and sales of businesses, drafting and reviewing software and intellectual property licensing/sale, employment law and human resources issues, trademark matters, purchase contracts, and complex commercial transactions. He also regularly represents and provides counsel to franchisors, franchisees, large businesses, tech companies, and startups.

Mr. Whitaker concentrates his practice on counseling buyers and sellers in a broad range of real estate transactions, including the development, purchase, sale, and leasing of commercial, office, and residential real estate. He regularly represents institutional and hard money lenders in all manners of commercial real estate financing and provides counsel on land use matters, real estate litigation, and corporate matters.
